I'm incredibly excited to be holding the very first Shabbat service for our new Congregation Beit Simcha tonight at 6 pm! It will be at the Center for Philanthropy (aka the Jewish Federation building north of the JCC on River Road), and it is a wonderful beginning. The Talmud says, "All beginnings are hard," but this doesn't feel that way: it seems, rather, filled with joy and anticipation, just the way Shabbat should always be. And tomorrow we will hold a Shabbat morning hike and service from Catalina State Park at 8 am. What a great way to begin again...
